GraviTile - The Story behind the flooring system.

1998

The idea

With the aim of revolutionizing the professional laying of tiled floors, Tomas Della Pepa came up with the first idea for a dust and dirt-free floor system.

1999

The first prototype

After the design phase using CAD applications and software simulations, the production of the first plastic click tile prototype follows.

2001

The patent application

For patent protection, the system is registered for an international patent.

2002

Further development of the system

By improving the design, the height of the system can be reduced from 6mm to 4mm. First tests with an injection molding machine with a 2K test mold are carried out.

2003

Improving stability

In order to improve stability, the click tile frame is further optimized with stabilizing grids in the gaps.

2004

The innovation award winner 2004

The company Quick Stone GmbH is awarded the Pioneer Spirit Award for its revolutionary laying system as the innovation prize winner of the year.

2004

The new frame design

New surface materials require an optimized mechanical connection of the frame to the tile, an undercut is developed.

2005

Introduction of new production technology

Higher point load requirements, especially in the commercial segment, lead to filling with polyurethane in the sandwich system – a milestone in terms of resilience and compressive strength.

2011

The new development of the carrier system

Based on the experience of the previous years, the research department can develop a new, heavy-duty carrier system that replaces the previous frame construction.

2014

Takeover of the partner company

Assembly and installation of the system are now carried out directly. This ensures consistently high quality and fast implementation.

2016

The pressure distribution plates

The laying process is optimized by a newly developed pressure distribution plate with a laminated compensation system.

2017

Optimization of the joint pattern

Joint spacers that are attached directly to the QuickTile floor system ensure an even more precise and even joint pattern.

2018

The development of GraviTile

Based on many years of experience with the QuickTile system, a new innovative floor system is created which uses magnetic attraction – GraviTile.

2019

The patent application for the GraviTile flooring system

GraviTile is also registered as an international patent for patent protection.

2020

The launch

GraviTile is officially launched for the public market.

2022

The development of the GraviTile wall system

In order to use the innovative GraviTile technology for wall tiling as well, a special magnetic paint is developed that also allows tiles to stick to the wall.
